Ole

We are in Carl's hometown taking part in the fiesta day celebration. The early day started with a mandatory death march run for Henry. I told him if he was in last place he wouldn't get any mini doughnuts. He managed to gallop ahead of the very slowest child with a sneer. Such a lovely child.

Alice ran an eighth of a mile and she hustled and got first place in her age division.

Carl ran five miles and he was speedy Gonzalez. He was third overall. Not bad for an old guy.

Claire and Max and grandma and I were the cheering division. We rewarded ourselves by visiting the Frito boat booth.

I have to admit I feel a level of respect for the way Henry beat the system.

Ahhhhhhhhh yeah, Alice. Great job. And great job to Carl, too!

Why didn't the old kids have to run?
